Is Popupsmart legit? The company behind it

Going by its own pages, yes: Popupsmart is made by Popupsmart Inc., a United States corporation founded in 2018, with a registered address in Newark, Delaware and a research and development office in Ankara. Its terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware.

These are Popupsmart's statements about itself, as read on October 23, 2026. The table collects them with the one rating that Shopify's App Store shows.

Payments, refunds and canceling

Payments run through Stripe. The terms allow a full refund within 7 days of a monthly purchase and within 15 days of an annual one. For Basic, that purchase is $39 a month billed monthly or $390 a year billed annually. One box on the pricing page says 15 days and one month instead; Popupsmart review covers that conflict.

After you cancel, the terms give no refund for unused time, and use continues to the end of the paid period. Paid plans renew automatically for the same term, and not using the service does not cancel it. To cancel, Popupsmart's help center points to its Customer Success team, so cancel through support and keep the reply in writing.

The free plan needs no credit card and has nothing to refund, so checking the product costs nothing. The page on whether Popupsmart is free lists its limits. Is Popupsmart safe for your visitors' data?

Popupsmart says it holds no SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA or KVKK certification. It says application data is hosted on AWS in Dublin and on Microsoft Azure in North Europe, both EU regions.

On every plan its feature table lists a privacy-policy checkbox and a GDPR-ready row. The checkbox is a form input that can be made required, so visitors agree to your privacy policy before they sign up. Those are Popupsmart's own labels, and this is not legal advice.

Support and what reviewers report

Popupsmart lists support replies of 15 minutes for chat, 8 hours and 24 hours for email on different rows of its pricing page, and says elsewhere that its team usually replies within an hour, so treat none of them as a guaranteed time.

The Shopify App Store listing shows a rating of 4.6 from 49 reviews on October 23, 2026. Popupsmart's pricing page says on October 23, 2026 that G2 rates it 4.5 out of 5 from 141 reviews, which is Popupsmart's own claim.
